No, I am not knitting a lace shawl (although, that would make the title more logical), but I am working on a couple of projects.
I finished the gray tunic, called Nadine, (I just have to block it out) and will post pictures of that relatively soon. Suffice it to say that I am quite pleased with it.
I am working on a triangular shawl called the "wool peddler's shawl" but with a modified ruffle edge on it instead of the (what appears to be) dragon scale lace.
Secondly, I will shortly begin work on another pattern from French Girl Knits called Delphine. I tried casting on for it last night, but ran into a problem with the lace pattern.

couple of projects
Photos of two of my projects! The gray thing is almost done. One shoulder to seam, ends to weave in, and a hem to crochet on.
The other is my mindless, "YO! Drop it" scarf.
The only complaint that I have about the gray thing is that it was /way/ too much kitchener stitch. On the plus side, I definitely feel like I've got a handle on the technique. :D Knit one off, purl one on; purl one off, knit one on... repeat... kind of a pleasant little mantra, but insufficient for 320ish stitches worth of kitchener

On my needles
I've got a couple of projects that I'm currently working on. Now that I've graduated, I seem to have a bit more free time on my hands (and that usually means either blogging or knitting... I do prefer the knitting bit...)
Currently, I am knitting a pattern from the book "French Girl Knits" called "Nadine". I wish that I were knitting it up in that fantastic green, but it is being worked in a lovely gray color. The yarn is a worsted weight, silk/wool blend, made by Bamboo Ewe (Stitch Nation). I've made gauge, which is great, but I think it might end up being too small (I was a little optimistic in my measurements, so that poses a problem. I will add an inch or two on the back panel to try to compensate.)
The second project is less exciting. It's knit up in some sort of ribbon. The pattern is "Yo! drop it!" from one of the Stitch and Bitch books.

Post one
Following the recommendations of my friends and students, I have started a new blog- this one- called "Twisted Stitches". My intent is to create a knitting blog, not necessarily posting help (I need to reference youtube videos and other blogs just like any other noob-knitter), but more of a "how am I doing?" sort of thing. I think it will mostly consist of projects that are currently on my needles (this will ultimately motivate me to take more photos) and things that I intend to create. I hope to develop my skills to the point that, yes, I will be able to give advice. We shall see how it goes for now.
